IDM and electronica: electronic music for listening as much as for the floor. Melodic IDM, glitch and microsound, breakbeat and breakcore: programmed and broken rhythms, detailed sound design, granular edits and melodic fragments.
The reference points are the Warp and Rephlex years of the 1990s (Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards of Canada, Squarepusher, µ-Ziq), then the clicks and cuts of Mille Plateaux and Raster-Noton, the glitch of Oval and Pole, and the laptop electronica of labels like Mego. Breakcore pushed the broken beat to its extreme; melodic IDM kept the melodies and slowed everything down.
We file here records where rhythm is designed rather than inherited from the dancefloor: melodic IDM, glitch and microsound, breakbeat and breakcore, with detailed textures and melodic writing. If a record is built for the club first, it is usually techno or bass; if it has no beat at all, it is ambient.

Thirteen concise compositions begin in a space of apparent clarity, where weightless textures and a sense of familiarity gradually give way to shifting perceptions. Recorded with percussionist Rainer Römer and Ensemble Modern, the second album introduces the Sixxen, whose metallic, microtonal resonances unsettle the surrounding sonic space. Drawing on the shifting identities of E. T. A.
