Experimental: the border territory. Abstract and mutant techno, deconstructed club and outsider bass: techno as a structure that takes in dub, glitch, noise and composition, and club music taken apart.
This is the border where techno meets everything around it. Autechre and Monolake made techno abstract and geometric; Vladislav Delay and Alva Noto dissolved it into dub and data; Raime, Andy Stott and Demdike Stare slowed it down and filled it with dust, echo and ritual. A second line comes from the UK hardcore continuum: the dubstep of Skream and Digital Mystikz, Burial on Hyperdub, Kode9 and The Bug, and later the deconstructed club of Janus in Berlin and labels like PAN, with Actress and Objekt taking the club apart.
We file here abstract techno, mutant techno, deconstructed club and outsider bass: dubstep, UK bass, grime instrumentals and the deep and outsider edges of house. Steady, straight techno usually goes under Techno; when distortion and pressure lead, under Industrial.

"Pferdemädchen" sustains its forward motion while resisting any clear resolution, whereas "Ende gut" plays with conflicting time signatures, pulling kick and percussion out of sync before bringing them back into alignment.
